With four kids under the age of 6, it's been a real life saver for her, and the bonus is her kids all hear God's word regularly.

BTW - my 13 year old daughter was on-set with Sean Astin as he filmed "Demoted" back in October. What a small world.

Hope you have a great week!Julie Gillieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16043208077641628180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359970966501743019.post-89594651613260370892009-02-06T12:55:00.000-05:002009-02-06T12:55:00.000-05:00This is such a challenging age to reach. If they want to take their MP3 players into their closets and listen to the Bible for a few hours, yee-hah! Bring it on!!!

I'm fussy about the Bible. I can't read along while a pastor is reading on Sunday mornings--I need to focus on him and the reading. (Plus, when they use a translation that's not in the pew, then I tend not to even open the Bible; it's a focus issue.)

Multiple translations are fine, but I like to read/hear through my pacing and the Holy Spirit's leading.

But, for now, for the tweeners and above, get into the Word!Sue J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08668691234427771146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359970966501743019.post-13668254611414322022009-02-06T10:03:00.000-05:002009-02-06T10:03:00.000-05:00Kelli, I'm with you - recording God's Word is a TA...Kelli, I'm with you - recording God's Word is a TALL order that most versions I've heard fall woefully short on. But your daughter gave the best recommendation one can give, "she wants to hear more." From her lips to God's ears! The Word will not return to Him void, so if this gets it into their hands, heck yeah! The Dementia Nursehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03899196818100584847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359970966501743019.post-77494948090777339102009-02-06T08:48:00.000-05:002009-02-06T08:48:00.000-05:00Kelli...I agree with you , and have experienced au...Kelli...
I agree with you , and have experienced audio texts of the Bible. I myself don't especially like them, because when I read the Bible or any book for that matter I enjoy creating in my mind the voices for myself.
We as adults must go along with the youth and give them the media that they prefer, but audio Bibles and books are not for me.
I enjoyed your insites however, and we will talk real soon.
Blessings and Love....PeggyPeggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531332561138496420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359970966501743019.post-16068407499945855542009-02-06T08:46:00.000-05:002009-02-06T08:46:00.000-05:00Well done! All those other translations and mediums don't quite measure up for me.

Thank God He makes provision for different tastes and needs. And for sure He's looking out for those tweens!Kathleen https://www.blogger.com/profile/05245926913888212148noreply@blogger.com
