The supplies have been put away. The mess is all cleaned up. The accessories have been purchased. And order in the house has been restored. Our powder room renovation is officially— and finally—finished.
It took much longer than expected, but I'm so happy with the results. Especially since the vision I had in my mind's eye turned out even better in reality. (That certainly isn't always the case!)
This wasn't a "fun" project but it was certainly satisfying. And besides saving a lot of money by going DIY, I got some good spiritual insights in the process. Maybe I'll write about them one of these days—perhaps while sitting on the floor of bathroom. As it is, I stop in many times a day to enjoy the ambiance. (Now instead of looking for me at my computer, my kids first check the bathroom! :-)
I thought I'd share the results so you can see for yourself. (The room is so small and hard to photograph but hopefully you'll get the idea.) Or stop by for a visit and see for yourself.
Remember the before:
Here's the after:
The final touch will be framed pictures from our backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon. Then it will truly be complete.
What projects are on your mind for 2011?

Oh, yeah!!! The sink really is incredible--what a nice finish on that part of the project! The tile work is really something, too, and I know that wasn't easy! And glad to know you'll have some memories on the wall, too :-)
Yes, job well done, indeed! You are either ready to tackle something else or ready to take a long break. Keep writing when you can, regardless....
Projects? Always! Must seriously finish sewing 3 sets of curtains. And painting the kitchen?!.....
Classy and sassy!
Unlike most years, we have very few projects planned. We have begun the process of house-hunting, though we're probably a year premature. In the meantime, we continue to reside/hang out in our daughter's condo. Guess you might say our project is to enjoy the intimacy so small a space compels :)
Blessings,
Kathleen
It looks like you were inspired by your trips to the Grand Canyon, so those photos should fit well with the space!! Great job...enjoy!

Really strong work, my dear. You might have to change to title of your blog to "Awesome God . . . Ordinary Girl who does great bathroom renovations." :) Very pretty.
Fondly,
Glenda
P.S. We all hope you get off the bathroom floor and get back to your computer . . . we missed you.
Fondly,
Glenda

Wow! I love the transformation! My favorite parts are the tiles and the sink! Gorgeous!
My sister and her husband remodeled their bathroom last year, so I know the amount of work that you must have put it!
