Empty Me

We're in the middle of a remodel of my living room and dining room. Right now my desk, stripped bare, rests on the last bit of carpet in the living room, like an island. I'll probably be offline for a day or two (GASP!). But, I'm excited for the change and am sure the end result will be well worth all of the chaos.

Since I don't have time, and soon won't have a computer, I wanted to share this song, "Empty Me." The lyrics have been running through my head these last few days. I first heard it in prison last week. We sang it a capello and honestly it sounded pretty bad! The words, however, really stuck with me so I Googled the lyrics. Who knew it was a Jeremy Camp song, that actually sounds really good!

With all our talk of fresh beginnings for the New Year, the words of this song are a great place to start. They're particularly apropos for me as I've been working to empty two rooms of all of their contents. I'm a living metaphor. Doesn't God communicate in wonderfully creative ways!

Beautiful! Yes ... more of YOU and less of me!

Great reminder for the new year, and such a melodic way to do it no less.

Be blessed,
Kathleen

That is awesome!!
I love his voice, but more so his message. God will use anyone willing...I love that about Him.

I was expecting the version by Chris Sligh - "Empty me of the selfishness inside, every foolish ambition and the poison of my pride...."

Both great songs, and both reminders that we need to be empty of ourself before we can be full of Jesus.

Like Kelly with a Y, I was more familiar with the Chris Sligh "Empty Me". This song by Jeremy Camp is also beautiful! Good luck over the next few days as the bottom gets turned right side up in the house - I'll pray for a quick return to sanity for all involved!

Love that song "Empty Me". All of his songs are great!

Sure hope you'll show us the new and freshly remodeled rooms! Love the paint color!

It's so true! God is amazing. When we were doing our living room last spring, I was going to ask one of the other gals to host the monthly Gather & Grow (just for one month during renovations) that I host here. Our living room had been uprooted and I sent an e-mail to the G&G gals saying my living room walls were "stripped and exposed". But the Lord put it on my heart to have the Bible study as usual, even though the room was raw and not necessarily "warm and cozy". Interestinglyl, during that time He had been doing some necessary "stripping and exposing" of my heart, and it was appropriate for me to contently host the Bible study. He blessed it, and I was so glad I could openly share with the girls about the stripping and exposing of our living room walls and my heart!

Can't wait to see the finished rooms! And I pray you are blessed and refreshed during your involuntary cyber/computer fast! :)

Empty me of me so I can be filled with YOU!!!

Oh girl, what a picture of chaos. In the end it will all be worth it - be sure to post "after" photos for us! I don't want to picture you stranded on that 'island' forever. LOL

Emptying anything is the start of possibilities. Empty stomachs have lots of choices. Empty glasses can be filled 1/2-way or more.... Empty lives can be filled with the nourishing Word of God.

Empty desks in an empty room....LOOK OUT! A splash of creation and a new beginning--you go, Kelli!!
